Medjugorje has been a place of gathering and prayer for millions of Catholics over the last four decades. It all started in June, 1981; when six local children witnessed the apparition of the Blessed Virgin Mary, or, as she is affectionately called in the region, Our Lady. The event took place in the area of Podbrdo, today known as Apparition Hill.

The uniqueness of the Medjugorje phenomenon is that apparitions have not ceased. The visionaries witness Our Lady's apparitions and receive her messages regularly even today.

Apparition Hill is the hill where the visionaries saw Our Lady for the first time. Today, the hill is a pilgrimage site: a place for personal prayer and reflection.  During your private Medjugorje day trip you will have time to climb and experience Apparition Hill at your own pace.

​>  PARISH CHURCH OF ST. JAMES

The church of St. James is located in the center of Medjugorje. Its construction was completed in 1969. It was built for the spiritual needs of the local community. Today it welcomes the believers from all around the world. Holy Masses, in the church of St. James, are also celebrated in English. Your private day trip to Medjugorje can be tailored around the Eucharistic schedule. 

Not far from the church, there is a bronze statue of Risen Christ, a work of Slovenian sculptor Andrija Ajdic. The statue is believed to be miraculous. From the right knee of the statue, there is a continuous leakage of a tear-like liquid, which still hasn't been completely scientifically explained.
